Youth Pastor

Michelle Thomsen

Here is just a little bit about me:

I graduated from Dassel–Cokato High School in 1979. So I am from this town originally, although I have lived many places.

I was not raised in a Christian home and didn’t accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior until I was 19 years old.  A good friend of mine had committed suicide and, for the first time in my life, I remember that I started to wonder about God and if He was real, and I wondered where my friend was now.

I couldn’t sleep one night and found a book to read that my mother had given me.  It was “How To Be Born Again” by Billy Graham. I started reading it and could not put it down. It was like God was talking right to me…speaking right to my heart! I was sobbing uncontrollably and I was kind of a tough girl so this was not normal. At the end of the book it gave the option of praying to receive Christ.  I admit that it took me some time to pray but I finally thought that this book had to be either the most emotionally manipulative book I had ever read, or, it was true and I needed Jesus.  I was all alone so I figured that I would try it…after all, no one would know if nothing happened, right?

But, something did happen…Jesus showed up and from then on I just knew that He was real and He was everything He said He was.  I started to read the bible every day and was amazed how God spoke to me in it. He even answered my questions that I had just asked Him during that day in the reading at night.  He is real and He is my Savior and the Love of my life.

Now God was not done with me yet though. Here is just a short list of what I have been doing with Him since…

I attended Oak Hill Bible College in Bemidji, MN in 1987-88 focusing on Bible and Missions.

I did a summer mission trip all over Europe as a staff over high school kids. We put on shows on street corners and shared the gospel with anyone who would listen that stopped to watch us.

Then I fell away from following God but didn’t ever stop believing in Him.  I started up again with drugs and promiscuous lifestyle.

In 2000, God rescued me! Yay! He set me free!!

I was with YWAM Brisbane Australia with outreaches to Thailand and Taiwan in 2002-2003.

God spoke to me and told me to go into full-time ministry. So, in 2008 I started JCnMe Ministries where I spoke all over the USA to small groups and bible studies. Been full-time minister ever since.

I went to Pemba, Mozambique Africa for their Harvest School of Missions with Iris Ministries in 2010.

Got my Assembly of God Minister’s certification in Arizona in 2014 and worked with the AG Cowboy church in Sedona AZ as a youth minister for a time while still running JCnMe Ministries.

In 2016 I moved back to Minnesota to help out my mom and now am the Youth Pastor here at New Life Assembly of God in Cokato Minnesota.

Now I am passionately in love with Jesus and want to serve Him where ever He leads me!
